Who we are
We are The Independent Pub Association - The IPA.
Our goal is a fair deal on the price of beer for Independent Pubs across the UK.
We are fighting for a fair deal and our goal is to level up the playing field of cost between supermarkets and independent pubs, to reduce the cost of beer prices to free trade pubs and bars, which we will pass on to our members.
Did you know supermarkets sell branded lager at £63.00 a barrel including vat, that’s just £0.72p pint including, gas, waste & overheads.
Independent pubs across the UK can't get anywhere near that sort of deal and are buying branded lager at £140 a barrel plus vat, that’s £1.60p pint - plus, gas, waste & overheads.
That is over twice the price the general public can buy lager from a supermarket!
How is this possible??
When trade prices exceed double supermarket retail price, it’s time for action!
